Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian

For Americans, a permanent exhibition at the National Museum of the American Indian, we created an immersive digital experience that extends beyond the gallery. Through an interactive website and a series of exploratory touchscreens, visitors can uncover the rich stories and voices behind the images and artifacts on view.

The website both adapts and expands upon the in-gallery experience. Opening with an original video, it translates the Americans exhibition for audiences who may never visit the museum, while offering returning visitors fresh perspectives and deeper insight. Featuring interactive essays from the exhibition’s curators, the site invites exploration of pivotal and often misunderstood moments in American history—including the origins of Thanksgiving and the story of Pocahontas.
